Thousands of supporters of jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan took part in a march toward Islamabad on October 4, demanding for his release. The protest started after talks between the government and the opposition fell through. Khan's supporters, travelling in a convoy of trucks, cars and buses, departed from the northwest of the country, where the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party holds power, and started marching towards the capital. The government has been preparing for weeks for the arrival of the demonstrators in Islamabad. Khan is current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s main political rival and has been imprisoned since 2023 on corruption and other charges that he and his party say are politically motivated. #islamabad #imrankhan #pakistan #tehreekeinsaf • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Insta
