Six men were arrested by police on the Monash Freeway at Chadstone following a six-and-a-half-hour crime spree across Melbourne's east and south. The rampage began at 5:30am when the group allegedly broke into a Brighton East home where two adults and a young boy were sleeping, stealing a Nissan four-wheel drive and an Audi. Special operations officers blocked the stolen Nissan on the freeway, stopping traffic across all five outbound lanes to apprehend the suspects.
