President Donald Trump confirmed a threat prompted the move, while Vice President JD Vance said Washington was acting with extreme caution. In this Firstpost Live video, we analyse how the withdrawal came amid a wider security investigation around Fairford, including arrests near the base. British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said there were strong indications Iran played a role. Tehran has denied the allegations. Concerns have also spread to other US military bases in Europe, including Ramstein and Spangdahlem.
