In this empowering and personal talk, Yardha reflects on her experiences in sport to challenge the idea that strength, power, and competitiveness belong mainly to men. Drawing on childhood memories, training experiences, and cultural expectations, she explores how gender stereotypes are learned rather than natural, and how they shape the way girls and women are seen, praised, and limited. She argues that the problem is not female strength itself, but a system that questions who is allowed to possess and display it. Ultimately, she calls on her audience to reject these expectations and embrace strength in all its forms. Yardhamarnee ‘Yardha’ Kuttig is a Year 11 student who has studied at Lanna International School for eleven years and is now in the final year of her IGCSE courses. She is very active in the student-led public speaking programme, particularly in debate and MUN. Yardha is also an accomplished badminton player and singer.
