Russia warned on Tuesday that Lithuania’s moves to change constitutional restrictions on nuclear weapons and a possible permanent U.S. military base would increase tensions and threaten stability in Europe. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the deployment of NATO military infrastructure closer to Russia’s borders and the potential presence of nuclear weapons in a neighbouring state would constitute an escalation, adding that Moscow would take “all necessary measures” to ensure its security. Peskov also rejected German intelligence claims that Russia was conducting a “shadow war” against Germany, calling the allegations baseless and accusing Berlin of using an “ephemeral enemy” to justify increased military spending. #russia #putin #kremlin #nato #lithuania #usmilitary #natoexpansion #nuclearweapons #europe #baltic #russiaukrainewar #military #geopolitics #dmitrypeskov #moscow #washington #europeansecurity #breakingnews #worldnews #timesnowworld Stay connected with Times Now World
