New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has declared a statewide disaster emergency amid a measles outbreak. The state has recorded 108 confirmed cases in 2026, prompting local officials to administer more than 1,000 vaccine doses across multiple counties. Measles was declared eliminated in the US in 2000 but has seen a resurgence in recent years.
