Veteran news anchor Richard Morecroft has died at the aged of 70. Morecroft presented ABC's NSW 7pm news bulletin from 1983 to 2002 and also worked on BTN and Letters and Numbers on SBS. A family spokesperson confirmed the death saying Morecroft had died "at a time of his choosing, on the south coast of NSW" with his partner of 36 years, Alison Mackay, 'beside him.' ABC Presenter Leigh Sales reflects on how she remembers a man who became to be a 'trusted friend' in so many living rooms.
