Gears of War: E-Day has a pretty damn great all-around multiplayer suite. There are, of course, still objective shortcomings and problems: the PvP modes lack a lot of maps, for example, and as much as I like Horde Siege, I do miss classic Horde – and that’s simply not available in the game, nor is it clear if it is planned to be added via post-launch updates either. Like I said previously, too, there are enough changes made to the flow of a game, and classic Gears was unique enough, that I can imagine at least some fans of the older games feeling disappointed or underwhelmed at all the changes. But, equally, as I said, most long time fans will find themselves coming around to the changes, if they give themselves the opportunity to keep an open mind. Whether it’s the PvP side of multiplayer that you enjoy, or the horde mode side, Gears E-Day’s multiplayer mode is going to provide countless hours of entertainment to fans new and old alike.
