The County of Nairobi is planning to use a multi-agency approach to tame the anticipated El Niño rains. It will collaborate with the National Police, Kenya Red Cross, Fire Department, NDOC, and others. The County has vowed to not fall victim to mistakes of the past to protect up to 100,000 residents or 20,000 households at risk. Over 200 hotspots have been mapped out and over 170 emergency holding centres will be built.
