A Manchester mosque visited by PM Andy Burnham earlier this year held a funeral for Munir Farooqi, 69, a former Taliban fighter jailed in 2011 for terror offences, including soliciting murder. He died at HMP Frankland last month, and over 100 people attended. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp demanded an apology. The mosque says it performs funerals for all Muslims, and Farooqi's family maintain his innocence.
