Police Commissioner Donna Jones says around 200 officers from seven forces were diverted from normal policing duties to manage anti-migrant protests in Gosport. She said each protest costs at least £150,000 and warned the disruption to 999 response and neighbourhood policing is “unsustainable”. Twelve protesters were arrested after around 300 gathered following the arrival of 149 migrants.
