Sweden is deploying a Patriot air defence system and around 100 troops to Poland to protect a critical NATO logistics hub near the Ukrainian border. The facility handles thousands of tonnes of equipment every month and plays a key role in moving Western military support into Ukraine. Sweden says its Patriot system will operate under NATO command and become part of the alliance's integrated air and missile defence. The deployment marks the first time Sweden is putting its Patriot system into action on a NATO mission. It also comes after Sweden announced the deployment of Gripen fighter jets to Poland for a NATO airspace surveillance mission.
