This talk explores how the butterfly effect shows up in our digital lives through the small, automatic decisions we make every day without a second thought. The talk traces how those habits build into something much larger, from personal data trails and corporate breaches to real consequences in employment and education, and closes by making the case that small intentional actions can shift the direction of the chain just as easily. Ishita Grandhi is a student at Sunset High School and the president of Live to Learn and SkillsUSA. Driven by a passion for digital security and online safety, Ishita focuses on the digital butterfly effect. She believes youth voices are critical to changing how we approach the digital world. Outside of school, Ishita is an avid student researcher, and lives in Portland, Oregon. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
