Death row inmate Christa Pike regained consciousness roughly six days after Tennessee’s failed attempt to execute her and was "speaking limitedly", one of her lawyers said during a court hearing on October 7. She is the only person known to have survived the lethal injection in the US. Details have come out about her current physical condition, but her legal team are also concerned about her mental state after describing her as "the ultimate survivor". Pike's lawyers are calling for all the evidence from the failed execution to be preserved for any future legal challenges. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on X: https://twitter.com/itvnews
