Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through central Amsterdam on Wednesday to mark the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks and protest Israel’s actions in Gaza. Police monitored the demonstration before removing some protesters and later pushing demonstrators back after the march moved away from its planned route. Smoke flares were also lit during the protest. Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema subsequently ordered the demonstration to end, citing fears of public disorder, and riot police cleared the square. Demonstrators called for the Dutch government to cut political, economic and diplomatic ties with Israel and said protests would continue until what they described as the occupation ends. Similar demonstrations took place across Europe marking the October 7 anniversary. #amsterdam #netherlands #october7 #october7anniversary #protest #protests #palestine #palestinian #gaza #israel #israelgaza #amsterdamprotest #propalestinian #dutchpolice #riotpolice #europe #middle
