This is the most well preserved human ever found. 3… 2… 1… In 1972, archaeologists uncovered a meticulously designed tomb. Inside was a woman from around 168 BC that was remarkably well preserved, with traces of blood still in her veins. We still don’t know exactly how it was done, but it’s a surprising contrast to one of the most well-known methods of mummification. By comparison, Egyptian mummification is a very specific process of embalming. Both methods have taught us so much about a world long past, from the diets to the diseases that plagued ancient cultures. The difference? This one left a body so fresh that researchers could perform an autopsy! For more, subscribe! #science #mummification #shorts
