Zach Pope reviews OTHER MOMMY, Rob Savage’s new supernatural horror movie starring Jessica Chastain, Arabella Olivia Clark and Jay Duplass — and this was a COMPLETE surprise. OTHER MOMMY is the kind of horror movie that reminds me why execution matters just as much as originality. Is this movie always unpredictable? No. There are jump scares you might see coming. There are story beats you can probably piece together before the characters do. There are moments where you know EXACTLY what kind of creepy image is about to appear. But honestly? I DID NOT CARE. Because Rob Savage knows how to make this movie MOVE. OTHER MOMMY follows Bela, an eight-year-old girl living inside a home already strained by her parents’ troubled marriage. Then something appears. A sinister entity emerges from inside Bela’s home and looks almost exactly like her mother. Bela calls it: OTHER MOMMY. And the more this presence appears? The more manipulative, aggressive and dangerous it becomes. Jess
