Bodycam footage released by the Vancouver Police Department in Washington state shows the dramatic arrest of a burglary suspect who fell from a shopping mall ceiling after an officer removed the ladder beneath him on September 30. Police said officers were called to Vancouver Mall after employees reported a man crawling through the overhead space and damaging ceiling tiles, lights and wiring. The suspect allegedly ignored repeated orders to come down, triggering an hour-long standoff as police and firefighters attempted to persuade him to leave the ceiling. The second floor was evacuated, and a mattress was placed below the opening in case he fell. After landing, the man attempted to run but was detained by officers. Police identified him as Gabriel Hideo, who was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief, as well as an outstanding felony warrant. The incident was captured on police bodycam footage. #vancouver #washingtonstate #vancou
