The first turtles rescued from a dried-out waterhole in Northern Territory wetlands near Moree have been released back into the wild. Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo helped rehabilitate the rescued turtles and started incubating more than 250 of their eggs. Conservation officer Phoebe Meagher says it has been an uplifting end to what was initially a worrying ordeal.
