New York City leaders have erupted in anger after a federal immigration officer shot and wounded a Dominican man during an ICE enforcement operation, with his five-year-old child reportedly inside the vehicle. Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson demanded that ICE leave the city, while NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams vowed to make federal immigration enforcement increasingly difficult. House candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier called the shooting tragic and preventable, accusing the Trump administration of creating fear in immigrant communities. Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Governor Kathy Hochul also condemned the incident and called for immigration enforcement actions to stop. The Department of Homeland Security defended its officers and blamed sanctuary policies. #NYC #ICE #DonaldTrump #NewYork #Immigration #VanessaGibson #JumaaneWilliams #ZohranMamdani #KathyHochul #ICEProtests #USPolitics #BreakingNews Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
