What happens when women police officers pose as women travelling alone? In Bhilwara, Rajasthan, plainclothes policewomen waited at bus stops and other public places as part of a two-day operation targeting harassment earlier this year. Men approached them. Some offered rides. Others persisted after being refused. One allegedly offered alcohol and asked a plainclothes constable to go for a ride. The police were watching from a distance.
