A 33-year-old father, Joshua Smith, was fatally stabbed in a Mount Druitt laneway by a gang of three attackers, with witnesses reporting some suspects may be as young as 11 years old. The tradie was stabbed twice in the stomach and repeatedly kicked before his attackers fled to the railway station. Police are investigating whether the fatal attack was random or gang-related, reviewing CCTV and mobile phone footage to identify up to a dozen people potentially involved.
