US President Donald Trump has authorised a temporary six-month licence allowing Russian diesel supplies to reach global markets, following a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump said Russia would immediately supply more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel, followed by 500,000 tonnes in November and another one million tonnes thereafter, predicting a sharp fall in fuel prices. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticised the decision as Kyiv's negotiating team held talks with US officials in Florida, warning that Russian energy revenues could help finance the war. Democratic senators also condemned the move, arguing it undermines sanctions pressure on Moscow. Ukraine has offered to halt strikes on Russian refineries if Russia stops attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure, while Moscow reportedly seeks sanctions relief and broader ceasefire arrangements. The potential impact on fuel prices remains uncertain. #trump, #putin, #zelensky, #russia, #ukraine, #russiandiesel
