Somewhere in Africa, a whole community is living alongside snakes. They consider snakes as gods and they even have a festival to celebrate the snake god they call Vodu Dangbe. Mindote Missihoun, a priest of the snake community says the “Vodu Dangbe deity does not bite, in fact it heals and protects them”.⁣ ⁣ The children wrap the snakes around their necks without fear, believing the reptiles are gods they should worship and respect as part of their tradition.
