US President Donald Trump has launched a furious attack on the Nobel Peace Prize decision after the 2026 award went to South African jurist Navi Pillay, claiming that he deserved the honour for his efforts to resolve multiple global conflicts. Speaking at a campaign rally in Syracuse, New York, Trump dismissed Pillay as “a person I never heard of” before calling the decision “a disgraceful and embarrassing” one. Trump argued that the United States, represented by him as president, should have received the prize and claimed that the Nobel award had been “forever discredited.” He also issued a pointed warning, declaring, “We will not forget Norway.” The remarks have reignited questions over Trump's long-running pursuit of international recognition for his diplomatic efforts. The Nobel Committee, which independently selects the laureate, cited Pillay's work promoting human rights, peace and international justice. #donaldtrump #nobelpeaceprize #navipillay #trump #trumpnobel #nobelprize20
