The European Union and China are trying to ease mounting trade tensions as top officials hold talks in Beijing. At the centre of the dispute is Europe’s massive trade deficit with China and a surge in Chinese-made cars, machinery and chemicals. European officials are particularly concerned about hybrid and electric vehicles, arguing that cheaper Chinese imports are putting pressure on domestic manufacturers and jobs. Brussels is considering new restrictions and tariffs, while Beijing says such measures would violate fair-trade principles. The dispute highlights Europe’s dilemma: protecting its auto industry while remaining deeply dependent on Chinese supply chains. #EU #China #EUChina #Trade #TradeWar #ChineseCars #ElectricVehicles #EVs #Europe #ChinaTrade Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
