Panama has been rocked by two powerful earthquakes just hours apart, collapsing buildings, cutting power and forcing residents to evacuate amid fears of a tsunami. The first, a magnitude 7.7 quake, struck at a depth of around 10 kilometres in the central province of Herrera, sending terrified residents fleeing into the streets. A series of strong aftershocks continued to rattle communities, with Panama becoming the third Central American country to experience powerful earthquakes in recent months.
