A man was taken to the hospital Thursday after ICE agents shot him while in his car because they believed their lives were in danger, federal officials said. A 5-year-old boy was also in the car during the incident, and the ICE agents were in plainclothes wearing construction vests. The Department of Homeland Security said the victim of the shooting, 28-year-old Oscar Bergal, was in the U.S. illegally, originally from the Dominican Republic, and was the subject of a targeted enforcement.
