Saudi-led forces have launched a 'large-scale operation' against Yemen's Houthi rebels, claiming to have destroyed 136 military targets and struck Houthi personnel and capabilities. The operation comes amid escalating clashes in Yemen, with reports suggesting Yemeni forces are advancing in areas around the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The Houthis have confirmed the assault, claiming to have repelled it, while reports say clashes around the strait killed at least 63 people in 24 hours. The escalation follows Houthi advances along Yemen's Red Sea coast and a series of attacks on Saudi Arabia, including strikes targeting transport hubs, oil facilities and civilian sites. Saudi Arabia reported three people killed in Houthi attacks on October 9, while Houthi media reported Saudi strikes on Sanaa airport that killed two people. Watch this video as Firstpost explains the latest Saudi-led strikes, the fighting around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the widening conflict in Yemen. --- Houthi
