Around 3,500 people took part in a pro-Palestinian march in central Berlin on Saturday, facing off against pro-Israel counter-demonstrators as part of a coordinated Global Day of Action in solidarity with Gaza, according to Berlin police. Organised by United for Palestine, the march began at a square between Germany's Federal Chancellery and parliament before proceeding through the city. Protesters waved Palestinian, Lebanese and Iranian flags, chanted slogans against Israel and carried banners calling for an end to Germany's support for Israel's military campaign. Police officers stood between the opposing groups as demonstrators exchanged chants and insults. Similar rallies took place in European cities including London, Milan, Rome and Warsaw, with participants calling for an end to Israel's offensive in Gaza and urging governments to withdraw support for Israel. Gaza's Health Ministry says at least 1,481 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since a US-brokered ceasefire
