US President Donald Trump is praising his own leadership while urging Republicans to rally behind him ahead of the November midterm elections. In a series of remarks, Trump told supporters that they would applaud even if he said “the stupidest things,” before insisting that his message was based on common sense. He also promised voters $5,000 in their pockets if Republicans win the midterms, describing it as an economic success unlike anything the country had seen before. Trump acknowledged the political stakes, saying Republicans would blame him if the party lost, while he expected to receive little credit if it won. He then urged supporters to turn out and vote, stressing how hard he was working. His remarks offer a glimpse into Trump’s campaign pitch, his confidence in his own leadership and his efforts to make the midterm elections a referendum on his presidency. #DonaldTrump #Trump #USPresident #USPolitics #Republicans #MidtermElections #TrumpSpeech #TrumpRemarks #AmericanPoliti
