Mount St. Helens is acting restless again. Hundreds of small earthquakes have been recorded beneath the volcano in recent years. Most were too small to feel. But scientists say this is the biggest burst of shaking since 2008. And it's the same pattern that came before the catastrophic eruption of 1980. Back then, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake triggered the largest landslide ever recorded on Earth. The north side of the mountain slid away. A sideways blast of superheated gas and rock flattened forests for nearly 30 kilometers. More than 50 people were killed. Ash fell across the United States and circled the planet in just 15 days.
