Students from Elmwood School delivered dozens of frozen turkeys to The Ottawa Mission to help feed residents during a record Thanksgiving period. CTV's Peter Szperling profiles student organizers Naomi Baird and Sofia McGarrity as they unloaded 37 turkeys collected through the annual Elmwood Turkey Trot. Peter Tilley, the CEO of the Ottawa Mission, noted the donation provides vital support as kitchen staff prepare to serve 18,000 holiday meals. Elmwood school co-ordinator Pam Royce says the student initiative has also raised more than $20,000 for the shelter over the past five years.
