CJP protests in Delhi have entered their second day, with fresh calls for demonstrations at Jantar Mantar prompting heightened security measures, traffic curbs and restrictions in several areas. The protests come a day after authorities detained more than 3,000 people during demonstrations against alleged irregularities in the electoral rolls, with detainees including former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The Supreme Court has heard a petition concerning the protests and ordered the restoration of internet and metro services. Meanwhile, Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das have been released by the court after being detained over the October 10 protests.
