Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Public Relations Officer Neha Yadav held a press briefing in New Delhi to address widespread detentions and refute allegations made by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Pushing back against claims by CJP leaders that police acted with "inhumanity" regarding founder Abhijeet Dipke's family emergency, DCP Yadav presented video footage showing officers offering transport and phone calls to Dipke upon learning of his grandmother's passing. Addressing the broader crackdown, Yadav explained that the proposed Jantar Mantar demonstration was denied permission due to CJP's past non-compliance, which previously resulted in stone-peltings, arson, and public property damage. To maintain order and ensure public safety, police imposed Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across key areas of Delhi, rendering unpermitted gatherings illegal and necessitating the preemptive detentions of Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka.
