Sydney's light rail network has recorded 220 near-misses in the past 12 months, with pedestrians, drivers and cyclists risking their lives by attempting to cross tracks dangerously. New security vision shows commuters distracted by mobile phones, rushing in poor weather conditions, and taking shortcuts across the tracks, forcing tram operators weighing over 85 tonnes to brake suddenly and putting passengers at risk of injury.
