The Trump administration has reportedly threatened to suspend a key mechanism for purchasing US weapons for Ukraine and halt intelligence sharing unless Kyiv stops attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, the Financial Times reported, citing European officials. The reported warnings came on October 10 and 11, shortly before US President Donald Trump announced an immediate energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. The White House declined to confirm or comment on the reported calls. Ukraine initially appeared unaware of the announcement, while a senior Ukrainian official said repair crews were still restoring electricity and water supplies in Kyiv. Russia also struck a power plant in Kharkiv that evening. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky later welcomed Trump’s proposal and urged Moscow to honour it. Questions remain over Russia’s commitment to the truce and how any agreement would be enforced. #ukraine, #russia, #trump, #zelensky, #ukrainewar, #russiaukrainewar, #usukraine, #t
