Two Indian seafarers remain missing after the MT Petro Dolphin was hit in what Indian authorities described as a drone attack at Sohar Anchorage off Oman on October 11. Dramatic footage shows the tanker engulfed in flames and thick black smoke. Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said 11 Indians were aboard the vessel. Nine were rescued safely, while Oman’s coastguard continues searching for the remaining two. The Forward Seamen’s Union of India identified them as Bir Bahadur Yadav and Amit Singh. The incident comes amid a series of attacks involving vessels carrying Indian crews. The MT Valthera was struck by an unidentified projectile on October 11, MT Gem No. 2 was hit by a drone on October 9, and 11 Indian crew members were injured aboard MT On Peace on October 6. India has called for the attacks to stop, declaring: “Attacks on commercial vessels, seafarers and civilian infrastructure must cease.” #india #oman #indiansailors #petrodolphin #tanker #droneattack #sohar #straitofhorm
