CPI(M) General Secretary M.A. Baby says protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the actions taken against demonstrators will continue across India. Addressing a press conference, Baby alleged that protesters, students and MPs were manhandled during demonstrations in Delhi and declared that if access to Jantar Mantar is restricted, similar protest sites would be created across the country. The CPI(M) leader also announced plans for wider mobilisation involving student groups, youth organisations, trade unions, farmers' groups and civil society organisations in the coming weeks.
