Former British Army tank commander Colonel Hamish de Bretton-Gordon analyses new tank footage showing a major tactical evolution in Ukraine. Advancing north of Kharkiv, Ukrainian forces are deploying main battle tanks and US-made Bradley Fighting Vehicles backed by an integrated protective screen of electronic warfare (EW) and defence drones - including Vampire and FPV interceptors. By coordinating direct-fire armour, command centre intelligence, and anti-drone counter-fire, Ukraine is restoring rapid armoured manoeuvre to a battlefield where movement was previously restricted to metres per hour. Hamish de Bretton-Gordon’s book, Tank Command: How the Tank Changed the Face of Battle, is available now at all major bookshops and online retailers.
