Victorian libertarian MP David Limbrick is pledging to introduce castle law-style legislation that would allow residents to fight back against home invaders with reasonable force, including weapons, before being attacked. The proposed laws would also legalise capsicum spray in Victoria, which is currently illegal to carry but legal in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. The initiative comes as crime remains a top issue heading into the state election, following a spate of home invasions in Victoria.
