This video contains distressing details. Violence against women and girls in Iraq is widespread, but under reported, according to UN experts. For incidents of sexual violence, there are no official figures. Human rights campaigners in the country say more needs to be done to protect women who speak out. They say threats and incitement against survivors should be investigated as crimes. BBC Arabic’s Sally Nabil has been to Baghdad to speak to women who say family and social pressures discouraged them from speaking out, but have now decided to break their silence.
