A 79-year-old driver crashed his BYD Dolphin electric hatchback through safety railing on Prince Alfred Parade in Newport, sending the vehicle straight into a backyard swimming pool just before 8:30pm. The homeowner dove into the pool and freed the trapped driver through the back seat after the airbag pinned him in the front.
