Warning: This video contains content which viewers may find distressing. Gisèle Pelicot has called for online sites enabling sexual abuse to be monitored and shut down, describing them as "a plague on society". In an exclusive interview with ITV News, she warned that closing these spaces remains an ongoing challenge and said everyone must recognise the problem and act. Ms Pelicot explained: "The platforms are an issue because every time you've got a platform that is shut down, a new one appears straight after... I think it is very important to keep an eye on and watch all those platforms and close them as soon as they appear." She also said it was critical that the men responsible understood that being drugged and raped in the way she was is a crime and stated: "Society and everybody needs to be aware of that and act. "I thought my case was an isolated one - I now realise that it wasn't at all." Ms Pelicot is, for many, a symbol of bravery and an international figure of strength
