The National Trust is facing backlash over a half-term baking workshop at Morden Hall Park, South London, for children aged 5 to 12. For Black History Month, kids learn about Tommie Smith and John Carlos and their 1968 Olympic Black Power salute, then bake “Olympic Gold Cookies”. Restore Trust calls the link “highly contrived” and irrelevant to the Trust’s work. Tickets cost £3 per child. #NationalTrust #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackPowerSalute #MordenHallPark #WokeDebate #UKNews #RestoreTrust #Olympics1968 #TommieSmith #JohnCarlos Kevin O’Sullivan interviews Social Policy Analyst Dr Rakib Ehsan.
