Emergency help for Christa Pike was delayed by confusion among first responders and prison officials following her failed execution last month, according to 911 dispatch recordings. [Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/subscribe] The first 911 call was made at 8.40pm on 30 September, just over an hour after the attempted lethal injection got under way, but the caller was unable to provide a code to help verify the request's legitimacy. It was only half an hour after the initial call that officials confirmed it was legitimate, clearing the way for responders to enter the gates of Riverbend prison. Christa Pike's legal team nor the Tennessee Department of Correction have immediately responded to requests for comment. #ChristaPike #US #NI40 #Channel4News ------- Get more news at our site - https://www.channel4.com/news/ Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/subscribe Follow us: TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@
