Spain’s King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia visited Ceuta for the first time since 2007, amid tensions with Morocco following July’s migration crisis, when more than 70,000 people crossed into the Spanish enclave. Most returned to Morocco, but thousands remained, and dozens died. Morocco claims sovereignty over Ceuta, making the royal visit diplomatically sensitive.
