Newly obtained 911 calls made after Christa Pike’s failed execution reveal that emergency help was delayed by confusion among first responders and Tennessee prison officials. The Nashville Department of Emergency Communications (DEC) told CNN it followed standard processes after receiving the 911 call and “dispatched to stage in the area within minutes of the original 911 call.”
