Every rental property in this country exists because someone was willing to take on the risk of owning it. Squeeze that person hard enough and they will either pass the cost on or move their money somewhere else. Neither of those helps a tenant looking for a home. If we want rents to come down, we need more supply, faster approvals and policy that brings investors in rather than pushing them out.
