Senator Chris Coons has delivered a fiery response to Republican lawmakers during a congressional hearing featuring former Special Counsel Jack Smith, branding the GOP’s attacks an “epic fail” and a “clown show” allegedly designed to appease Donald Trump. Coons defended Smith’s record, praised his professionalism under pressure, and pushed back against Republican claims about his appointment as special counsel. He also highlighted evidence from the Mar-a-Lago classified documents investigation, including allegations that sensitive national security materials were improperly retained at Trump’s Florida residence. Coons further criticized Republicans for revisiting January 6 and targeting the Justice Department’s investigative practices instead of focusing on issues such as the economy and gas prices. As the hearing intensifies, the clash raises broader questions about political accountability, DOJ secrecy, and the future of public trust in the American justice system. #ChrisCoons #Ja
